About Us

The #WeMove Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit is founded by Ezinne Kalu. A dynamic professional with a passion for uplifting communities and driving impactful change. A Nigerian-American, International Basketball Player, 2-Time Olympian and Entrepreneur who has made a name for herself both on and off the court. From Newark, New Jersey, to playing professionally in dozens of countries in Europe/Asia and representing Nigeria in two Olympic Games(Tokyo/Paris), Ezinne Kalu has lived a journey that exemplifies resilience, determination, and excellence. With years of experience competing at the highest levels of basketball, she understands what it takes to overcome challenges, break barriers, and achieve greatness. She has translated the discipline and determination from basketball into a mission to empower, inspire and uplift others.
This foundation was born from the realization that African athletes and inner-city youth are often underserved, with limited access to the resources and networks that can propel their lives and future careers. Understanding the challenges firsthand, we are passionate about bridging the gap and creating lasting change in the world of local and international sports. #WeMove foundation focuses on various initiatives that would improve team lodging/logistics, training camps catered to player development, and securing sponsorships to support young talent in their journey toward success. Under the banner of #WeMove, Ezinne emphasizes resilience, unity, and the belief that no matter the obstacles, progress is always possible.
Beyond sports, Ezinne is an advocate for self-expression through fashion and storytelling, a tech-savvy visionary, and a proud supporter of education and growth in underserved communities. Through community outreach and engagement to mental health/wellness programs, her mission is to ensure that #WeMove becomes a global platform that inspires, connects, and transforms lives.
